AB Germa has had a close collaboration with Ferno for many years, during which we have jointly developed mattresses for several of Ferno’s stretcher systems. These mattresses are designed to provide optimal comfort and safety for the patient.
As healthcare personnel increasingly move the patient to the stretcher instead of carrying the stretcher to the patient, transfer mattresses have become more popular. AB Germa has developed transfer mattresses that fit most stretchers on the market. Almost all of Germa’s transfer mattresses and transfer sheets are made with a glide surface on the back, allowing healthcare personnel to drag/slide the patient on the ground and, for example, in stairs. The advantage of these mattresses is that healthcare personnel can move the patient from the stretcher to the hospital bed or X-ray table without having to lift the patient, improving both safety and ergonomics for both the patient and healthcare personnel.
Stretcher Mattresses & Mattress Accessories
The stretcher mattress is an essential part of a stretcher system, where the patient should lie both comfortably and securely during transport. In partnership with Ferno International, AB Germa has developed a number of mattresses tailored for Ferno International’s various stretcher systems, such as their Viper and Mondial systems. Our mattresses are designed to meet the highest standards of comfort and safety during patient transport.
Transfer products are designed to move patients from the site of injury to the care facility, with different needs and purposes depending on the situation. Often, transfer mattresses with thicker foam are used as comfortable stretcher mattresses to move patients between different healthcare environments. Transfer mattresses with thinner foam are primarily used in emergency situations where the patient needs to be lifted or dragged from the scene of the accident to the care facility. These thinner mattresses can also be used as lying mattresses in emergency situations, such as natural disasters.
Transfer sheets are primarily used to move patients from the scene of the accident to an ambulance stretcher for further transport. Our products are designed to ensure a safe and comfortable transition for the patients under all conditions.
